What?!? But Spring has barely begun!
Yes, we know. We also know Spring lasts about 10 minutes in Utah and Summer is over in the twitch of an eye! We suggest us grownups make a secret pact to pretend it is Summer NOW and live like it’s Summer ’til we just can’t fake it anymore. 🙂
Outdoor and family play is KEY, so we’re giving up all profit from the sale of kites in April. 40% off in-store AND online!
That goes for the kiddos too! Whether our own little brood, nieces, nephews, neighbors or grandkids, let’s give them a long “Summer” full of creativity, outdoor play, imagination and exploration. We’ll do our best here at The Corner Station to share free and low-cost ideas to “Bring Back Childhood” and give the kids tempting playtime options other than screen time! (and they will have NO idea what we are up to – he, he, he.)
Plan on craft and science activity time at the Co-op with our EXPLORE! series. (There are new treats at the Deli too.) Our favorite toy maker, Melissa and Doug, is helping out with a few free activities and sponsored sales to make it easier to bring creative new toys into the mix too.
Advice from mom of 6, Melissa (of Melissa and Doug toys) –
“So as much as you can this summer, please open that back door and say to your children, “Go play outside!!!” Trust me, you will be giving them a gift in doing so. And if, by chance, you need a spark to get those creative juices flowing, feel free to use some of my own personal ideas as inspiration. I bet you’ll discover that after getting your kids started with just one of the ideas below, they’ll come up with a dozen of their own. See you out back!”
